On July 5th, WVS held a groundbreaking ceremony for the future home of Winona Volunteer Services. This is an incredible milestone in WVS’s 50 year history. Sandra Burke, Executive Director said “We are actually building a facility that is designed for our needs and puts all our services under one roof. We are able to embark on building a home for WVS because of our organizational growth throughout the years and the impact our services have had on those in need.”
Special acknowledgements went to:
Wieser Brothers and OWA Architects for taking a design idea and making it come to life,
Fundraising mentor, Laura Eddy, for her reassurance and inspiration to conduct a capital campaign,
To all the “Quiet Phase” donors who pledged $3,833,000,
To the past and current WVS board of directors for their patience, insights and expertise for making this day possible and for seeing this build to completion,
To all the WVS volunteers throughout the years for their commitment and energy to serve others, and
To the WVS staff for their commitment to this journey and unwavering dedication to their work.
