Congratulations Sandy Curtin! Sandy was presented with the 2021 Mettille Service award for her commitment, reliability, outstanding service, creativity and furthering the WVS mission of “with dedicated volunteers and partners, we help people address life’s challenges in a respectful and dignified manner”. Sandy has been a volunteer for the Home Delivered Meal program for over 26 years! Her nominator stated “she puts so much energy into helping others and does it joyfully with a smile every time”. Sandy is involved throughout the Winona community volunteering her time and talents.

Brooke Christopherson-Brooke was nominated by her fellow peers at American Family-A.J Kanz Agency. Brooke was instrumental in bringing the idea of delivering Home Delivered Meals to her workplace. Her peers state “Brooke has a big heart, she takes the time to talk with our clients brightening their day with her smile and genuine caring attitude! She’s a dog lover and will make sure the dogs on our route get a treat!”.
Joining the loading dock team in 2020, Donn Seitz is the first person you may see when bringing in your food donation. When not accepting food donations, Donn is busy is in the food shelf putting out bread and stocking shelves. He was nominated by a food rescue volunteer who states Donn is always smiling, he is a hard worker, willing to offer a hand and is always busy!”
Delivering Home Delivered Meals since 2011, Chris Antoff was nominated by a fellow Home Delivered Meal volunteer who states “Chris does so much for the Winona Community”. And that she does, she is a strong advocate for the Home Delivered Meal program, often referring others to the program. She spends her time volunteering at various organizations in our community.
Betsy Rowekamp joined Winona Volunteer Services in 2000, currently Betsy volunteers in the Food Shelf, she also has assisted with the sorting and stocking of food from various food drives throughout the years. She is a member of the Volunteer Management Committee. Betsy nomination read “she has a pleasant attitude, willingness to help and support clients and staff, and is a pleasure to work with”.
