On Friday, April 28th, 2023, Winona Volunteer Services celebrated the future state of WVS by Kicking Off the Public Phase of their capital campaign. They announced to a room full of guests that they need to raise 1.1MM in 120 days to build a single facility that houses the Food Shelf, Clothes Shop, Offices and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program.

It’s been a 50 year journey from a small house on Broadway to three buildings on 2nd Street. Now Winona Volunteer Services is bringing all their services under one roof with a new 22,000 square foot facility. “I am proud to say that our major donors have pledged 78% of our total building costs during the quiet phase of this campaign. Now I am asking the community for their help in raising the rest,” said Sandra Burke, Executive Director as volunteers turned large cards to reveal the $1.1MM to the audience.
