August 17th is National Thrift Shop Day so I invite you to come and visit The Clothes Shop at 416 East Second Street. Come down and celebrate the fun of bargain hunting in a clean and organized clothes store. The Clothes Shop offers shoppers low-cost, high quality used clothing and is open to the public Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm and on Saturdays from 10am – 1pm. We sell shirts, pants, shorts, skirts, blouses, tee-shirts for $2.00; dresses and coats for $4.00; kids clothing sizes 0 – 6x for $1.00. We also carry clothing accessories, jewelry, linens and more! There are styles, sizes and things available for men, women, children and teens.
What we have available on any given day depends on what is donated…. so the next time you clean out your closet, please consider donating to The Clothes Shop. Your gently worn item can easily become a sale for Winona Volunteer Services. Even if your item doesn’t sell we have a network for recycling them which pays us for doing so. Either way, your donated item becomes a revenue source for the programs and operation of Winona Volunteers Services, a local non-profit that helps people in need. And that’s the purpose of thrift stores, to sell secondhand goods to help benefit the work of a charity.
We now take credit and debit cards to make your shopping experience easier. And coming up on Thursday, September 7th we will have our fall change-over quarter sale from 9am – 6pm, where each piece will only be twenty-five cents making way for our “new” donated fall merchandise.
Hope to see you soon.
