Donation Guidelines
We will accept your donations in a bag, in a box or on hangers. Please make sure your items are freshly washed and free from orders such as mold, mildew, cigarette smoke, or moth balls. We do not have a wash machine on the property.
We accept all clothing, no matter what season it is.
- Clean, gently worn or new clothing for adults, children & infants
- Linens, Bedding, Towels, Blankets & Curtains
- Shoes, Boots and Clothing Accessories
Please make sure your donations are:
- Free of Animal hair
- Not worn down
- Not Excessively Wrinkled
- Free of Snags or holes
- For shoes, not scratched, scuffed, excessively worn or dirty
- Free of spots and stains
- Not faded, over washed or over worn
Seasonal Change-Overs
Twice a year, staff and volunteers change-over all the merchandise to display a new season of clothing. A “Quarter Sale” is held usually in April and August before the racks are emptied. We do not accept any donations while we are closed for the change-over.
Unacceptable Items
We accept and sell CLOTHING ITEMS ONLY. The following items are NOT accepted:
- Unsold garage sale items
- Microwave ovens
- Exercise equipment
- Computer Equipment
- Baby equipment or furniture
- Appliances
- Electronic equipment
- Textbooks or Books
- Mattresses
- Household Items
- Furniture
- Suitcases
Consider listing your items on WinonaShares.org, an on-line Free Store that helps you give away your unwanted items without leaving your home. Anyone interested in your items will call you directly to work out the details of the exchange. Or, try calling one of these other stores to see if they will accept your donations.
